“What if your sole intention while creating a piece of art was to access freedom?” Flora Bowley
Freedom is. . .
Freedom is the ability to surrender to whatever is happening in the moment.
Freedom is the ability to pause and choose a response.
Freedom is the ability to ask for more time.
Freedom is the courage to speak and the grace be heard in your truth.
Freedom is being less afraid of failure.
Freedom is letting yourself learn.
Freedom is seeing how everyone is your teacher, even the ones you conflict with.
Freedom is trusting that underneath it all there is a fascia of love, a connective tissue that twists and turns, flexing and moving with us, holding us together.
Freedom is letting go of what was so that what is and will be can emerge.
Freedom is affirming yourself and others full humanity, regardless of the rules, regulations and restrictions we put on ourselves.
Freedom is going slow in a rushing world.
Freedom is knowing when to take a nap.
Freedom is being able to say “I don’t know.”
What is freedom to you?
Here’s to your freedom and mine,
Anna Marie
p.s. This is what my intuitive art mentor Flora calls a “poemish” piece of writing, something that comes quickly with very little editing or fussing. I painted the above image and the wrote this poemish piece in response to her question. I encourage you to try answering this prompt for yourself!
