“Embrace the nonlinear nature of life,
by giving things time to find their shape, their space. “
Morgan Harper Nichols
Hi Friends,
I loved the above line in hidden in a post I read online this morning. This idea captures my own experience right now, exactly.
What are you nurturing in your life that is non-linear?
For me it’s my creative practice which includes: mothering, art making, coaching, caring for myself and my home.
What’s feeling good to me lately is planning my days ahead, not over-filling the space I have, focusing on one task at a time, and then noticing how peaceful and deeply satisfying this way of being is for me.
For my controller parts this requires a great deal of trust that “things will find their shape and space”. And, when I can embrace that truth, what a relief it is to realize that I don’t have to (and actually, I cannot) engineer everything into being in a productive, linear way. I only need to tend to what matters for today. That is the way of the wildflowers, the way of nature and we are nature.
Sending love to you in all your unfolding, shape shifting, grace giving, everyday living.
xo,
Anna Marie
I will be reading this one ten more times until I let it sink in all the way. My controlling parts definitely need this message.
