Soul teacher. A soul teacher, I believe, is a person or experience that challenges and ultimately expands the way one understands life. For me, authors, artists, books, songs, and experiences in nature have all served as soul teachers. The most potent soul teachers in my life are people.
The beauty of soul teachers is that they aren’t actually trying to teach you anything. Soul teachers are simply themselves. Soul teachers live their lives, express themselves in real time, and invite you to join them. The learning happens in the way you choose to respond within this collaboration.
Motherhood is one of the ways life turns me inside out - the experience has been full of trials, triumphs and everything in between.
My daughter, Ava, offers me daily opportunities to practice being a fully present human. We travel together through this life. Ava challenges and expands my understanding, compassion, and curiosity simply by being herself.
I am humbled and grateful for such a profound teacher.
