on going all in

Hi Friends,

Are you feeling the frenzy of halloween and election day energy as I am? The quote above from a teacher of mine, Joanna Macy, grounded me, as did making this drawing.

I also loved this podcast Brené Brown released on Monday with Vice President Kamala Harris.

Also on repeat, Leonard Cohen’s song, Democracy, “I'm still holding up
This little wild bouquet / Democracy is coming to the U.S.A”

My socialized self feels a sense of apprehension, doubt, of guarding against disappointment, which can easily morph into fear and spinning out in anxiety. I watch my daughter and the way she goes all in on the things she is passionate about. My true self knows that this kind of willingness to want with courageous hope and the choice to focus on what is possible is what creates meaningful change.

So, I am choosing to go all in on my wildest hopes for this next week, because why not? Will you join me?
